PROJECT SPOTLIGHTS

BRITISH COLUMBIA

A LESSON IN MASS TIMBER

The University of British Columbia, located in Vancouver, is a leader in building with innovation and foresight. Their new Gateway Building will continue this trend with a focus on health and wellness, architectural excellence, and open and respectful dialogue with Indigenous representatives and Elders.

ALBERTA

BUILDING BACK BETTER

The Mulder house renovation and retrofit in Edmonton, Alberta, was a multi-purpose endeavour; build a second storey suite so the owners could age in place and extended family could move in, and ensure the new structure was as efficient as possible.

SASKATCHEWAN

REIMAGINING THE GLOBE THEATRE

Bats weren’t the only issue at the Globe Theatre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Crumbling infrastructure meant it was time to tear down… OR… reimagine. Owners opted for the latter and began an intensive upgrade that will help actors keep the magic alive during performances in the future.

MANITOBA

HONOURING HISTORY, BUILDING OPPORTUNITY

Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company’s new building in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, will unite a company and create opportunity in the city’s downtown core.
