Coming Soon! BUILDEX Alberta 2020 – November 30 to December 4, 2020
After two decades in the province operating separately as BUILDEX Calgary and BUILDEX Edmonton, BUILDEX Alberta was formed in November 2019. The repositioning of the two shows into one provincial platform, supported by a local team out of Calgary, has created the province’s largest business-to-business event connecting the entire Albertan building industry.
“For more than 20 years, industry professionals in Alberta have relied on BUILDEX for continuing education, networking, generating new business and finding new products,” says Patti Stewart, Executive Vice President, Informa Canada. “We are committed in both 2020 and beyond to deliver our events and support the building & construction industries.”
This year, the event will be delivered 100 per cent virtually as part of Buildings Week happening November 30 to December 4, 2020, and will be brought to you by both The Buildings Show and BUILDEX Alberta. Looking ahead, BUILDEX Alberta will seek to return to a stronger, live, face-to-face event in 2021.
Buildings Week brings together five key events in Canada’s building industry calendar: BUILDEX Alberta, Construct Canada, PM Expo, Homebuilder & Renovator Expo, and World of Concrete Toronto Pavilion. This unification of events has enabled the development of a powerful online platform that will be of tremendous benefit for attendees, sponsors, speakers, and exhibitors, virtually connecting more than 70,000 design, construction, and real estate professionals across Canada.
By BUILDEX Alberta going virtual as part of Buildings Week, the province’s building industry will now have access to over 120 professionally accredited, educational seminars, and extensive networking, as well as a new and innovative digital tradeshow marketplace. You can expect all the benefits of a live show, plus innovative features not possible from an in-person event. Additionally, the virtual experience will be enhanced through AI-driven matchmaking and on-demand access to content, accessible anywhere through mobile or desktop.
Centred on the theme of Reconnecting, Supporting and Energizing Industry, BUILDEX Alberta remains committed to the resurgence of the province’s building industry, as well as providing a powerful platform that will be a driver and facilitator of industry progress.

In collaboration with the TCA and Construction Canada Magazine, there will also be a series of Awards presentations during Buildings Week to recognize leaders in our industry.
The 2nd Annual Emerging Leader Awards recognize members of the AEC community who demonstrate excellence, impress and inspire their co-workers, and are well on their way to becoming the next leaders in the profession. These awards recognize young professionals for excellence in design, leadership, initiative, and/or service to the community.
The Innovative Product Award is open to any supplier who can demonstrate the development, and/or the use of innovative technologies in their respective industries. This is a great opportunity for industry to showcase its products and services at the new virtual Buildings Week.
